Carbohydrates are "Sugar, Nuclear Bombs!"

Went to a conference a few weeks ago. Doctor reminded attendees that the reason carbohydrates are so bad and why they create an insulin surge, is because when they break down in the stomach (acid) as the chains that hold them together are severed, they explode like bombs into shrapnel of smaller sugars: KABOOM!

When one thinks about this in the context of what children eat today, EVERY DAY, it becomes painfully obvious WHY childhood obesity case increases are out of control, and WHY children are presenting diseases of OLD AGE!

I'm serious: Parents are going to be burying children in large numbers going forward.

Let it not be us: Let's Get Healthy through whole foods and whole food supplements, and through moving and breathing: Go back to the basics of human health!

No more processed and preserved food for us!

English Chef, Jamie Oliver, Nails the Problems (but his work is not done; will he make it or be sacked?)

Wow. Set the Tivo or take a watch on ABC if you are in on Friday nights. English Chef Jamie Oliver is tackling America's children's nutrition crisis in West Virginia because Huntington, WV, has the worst health and obesity stats in the US (by a few points). Hey, he could have shown up here. I'm serious!

Here's the link to the show's website: http://abc.go.com/shows/jamie-olivers-food-revolution

The show gives you alternating moments of sadness and elation.

One of the most poignant moments was when Jamie showed vegetables to 6 years old children in local elementary school and ask them to identify them one at a time: they could not name a tomato; certainly an egg plant; a pea; cauliflower, etc. They could not name one as he showed them the actual veggie right there in class.

I noticed on the show site that the incident in the classroom when and where the children could not name the veggies is the second video. Take 2 and watch it, I'm serious, it will break you heart!

But they could name pizza (ugly, starchy, frozen pizza) , french fries (but they could not name a potato, I kid you not), etc.

"So?" one might ask, "so they know what pizza and cookies and french fries look like and that they can eat them."

No, that's not the point. The problem is that we in general and children in particular NO LONGER KNOW WHAT REAL FOOD IS. We're 3 or 4 generations into commercial food, and we've forgotten what the real stuff is.

Concentrated Food in Daily Diet is Now Mandatory!

As we've said in mission and on recurring media occasions, Americans must take ownership of their health and wellness by practicing Self-Care! We also advocate Whole Foods for manner of eating. Whole Foods are, in general, foods as close as possible to their natural state. This definition automatically eliminates processed foods and fake drinks!

But the fact of the matter is that because of the state of the depleted, dead, global, soils, including soils in the US other than a few places like, for example, the Standard Process Farm, whole foods are not potent enough for many Americans to make up the health and function deficit in which they find themselves.

Nutritional depletion and lack of body stores happen like compound interest, backwards! The man, woman, or child who finally 'get it' and start to 'eat better' and take 'vitamins,' are, as we've said in other post, behind the 8 ball.

The way I see it, a cut-to-the-chase way to know if one is behind the 8 ball is if they are on any prescription drugs, or, if they were to go to a doctor presenting the symptom or symptoms they current possess (every little nick-picking one), would they likely be put on one or more meds.

The reason I think this is a good measure is because pharmaceutical drugs are made and dispensed, generally, to mitigate symptoms. That's a fact. I'm not being negative, it is just a fact that everybody knows.

Setting aside local farming, the majority of the US food supply is grown on 'commercial farms' via man-made fertilizers, pesticides, etc. As Mary Frost and Mark Anderson and others have pointed out, these man-made chemicals sterilize the soil. Without going into the mechanisms here, these and other things result in soils and the plants that grow from them having virtually NO trace minerals, and a lack of trace mins are only a part of the story, albeit a very, very important one in terms of function of human physiology.

Therefore, men, women, and children who decide to eat better and do better and practice self-care really, really need to go to one of the counselors we advocate to understand their base line deficiencies, their implications, and what to do about them.

What to do likely consists of really pouring the coal of concentrated foods to the body for a period of time necessary to get stores of things lacking back up, after which a less intensive, maintenance schedule will be followed because after all, it's only great food, but the lack of great food is what is primarily killing us!

Here's what I'm talking about: Beets are a great food for the liver, etc. We don't eat enough beets. That's a fact. Beets on the salad bar at Ruby Tuesday are not what I am talking about: Ruby does a good thing putting them there and I love em and eat em, but hey, they are NOT potent enough for therapeutic effect!

Standard Process grows beets. Mary Frost said it takes about 300 gallons to end up with enough concentrate to fill a suitcase. That's concentration, and they do it under cool temps, and so the food is still vibrant with enzymes and other co-factors God put on board.

Standard Process pills them up into pills about the size of a man's shirt button. Now, that's what the Great Physician ordered, in spite of the fall of nature in the Eden fiasco! For those of you who have ears to hear, God always leaves a Gracious remnant!

Behind the 8 Ball

Childhood Obesity equals Childhood Mal-Nutrition. Of course, the skinny kids who eat foods of commerce all the time are also mal-nourished, but they get by with it because they do not stand out. However, the skinny kids are getting serious dental work, early, and they act up and out all the time, but we modern people have forgotten or never knew the dental connection, and bad behavior, well, it can and often is medicated down to compliance. What we have now are people that, if they get it, must play nutritional catch-up. What catching up for lost time means is illustrated by Dr. Bruce West: "If you have a heart problem with high blood fats and poor digestion, my by recommendation would be some powerful dietary changes. For starters, if this was feasible, I would like to see you consume daily: a pound of raw, organic liver; a couple of buckets of organic beets and beet tops; gallons of freshly squeezed vegetable juices; and plenty of raw, fresh-pressed organic oils, such as flax seed oil. Naturally, this is impossible. So, instead we use supplements that are condensed from these foods..." Standard Process makes concentrated food supplements that are necessary TODAY, and they are usually no larger than a shirt button.

Butter and Prostate? What? Are you Kidding?

Talk about Saw Palmetto as prostate tonic came up yesterday and got me thinking about things we've forgotten or never knew because of suppression or wrong doctrine on nutrition. Here is one: the prostate is muscle, and muscle needs calcium to constrict (magnesium to relax, etc.). Most Americans, men in this case, are woefully deficient in tissue calcium. I've seen many fellows take SP Calcium Lactate for muscle cramps and they, the cramps, went away in minutes. Dr. Lee knew this, and he also knew that vitamin F, F as in Frank, mobilized calcium to the tissues. Therefore, if low in F, you are low in calcium in the muscle and tissues, even IF you have enough calcium (of the right sort), and again, you likely DO NOT, and so there's a double whammy! I'm running off memory here, but F is a fatty acid found in several foods NO LONGER in our national food supply to the extent they need to be. BUTTER is one of them. So, commerce has done a great job getting men on all sorts of commercial alternative for BUTTER that would last on the shelf until the cows come home, no pun intended. I bet decline in butter consumption and increase in prostate problems correlates so well it would scare us! Ha, run that regression model and take a look, you'd be eating butter by the handfuls! The point is prostate needs calcium, and calcium is mobilized to prostate and other muscle and tissues by F, and so we need calcium and F. A great combo to supply these in the midst of our dearth of foods rich in both is SP Calcium Lactate and SP Cataplex F. Dr. Lee came up with Cataplex F, originally, to help the prostate. If you'd like to know a broader SP protocol for prostate health, email me through the website, http://www.letsgethealthymississippi.com

Why All the Strokes (and Cardio) Problems These Days?

I received news yesterday a fellow we know in the Delta had a massive stroke to the point there was blood on the floor of the restroom of his mother's house where they found him alive, but in coma. He is about 50 years old. He had stopped by to visit his mother. He is in Univ Hosp, etc. We hear health care people talk about the increase in the numbers of strokes in America and the decreasing average age of the victims. I think that in the context of the nature of much of our food in supply, we have to do the right things to strengthen the integrity of our vascular system. Vita C will do it, but most people are taking Ascorbic Acid (or Ester C) thinking they are taking C. Ascorbic Acid is NOT vitamin C. Real vitamin C is in certain foods and it is very, very complex; and, from all the complexity comes a multitude of functions. Consider this quote about real C and the 'P Factor's' role in human physiology and health:
"The P factors strengthen the vascular system."

For the truth on Vitamin C, go to this page on our website:
http://letsgethealthymississippi.com/vitaminc.aspx

Swap your 'vita c' tablet for Standard Process Vitamin C by going to one of our great sponsors in your area. If you are in the Jackson area, see Adkins in Brandon, Gamble in Ridgeland, or Norville and Pearson in Flowood.

And while we're talking about it, swap your multi for Catalyn. 99% of commercial vitamins are not vitamins at all, even if they are in 'liquid' form. More on that later. Let's not fall for the propaganda anymore: Let's Get Healthy!

What is Making Us Sick and Killing Us (other than sedentation)

Well, as is the case these days, I found myself in 2 restaurants this past weekend. Made me think about what is going on in our society in terms of food and health. At Let's Get Healthy Mississippi, we recently did a pretty good newsletter that attempts to spell out the factors associated with food supply that are driving our bad health stats in Mississippi and the US. You might like to read it at: http://letsgethealthymississippi.com/Documents/LGHMSissue2a.pdf
The home page address is http://www.letsgethealthymississippi.com. Give it a look, and please, forward it to your friends and family.

Let's Get Healthy Mississippi

We started by creating a campaign in a state that is known as the fattest in the US and world. Now we are taking the movement across the United States.
